Remembering Michael....

There are a lot of people in this world who dislike Michael Jackson, but there are more who love and support what he has done on this earth. He left a mark for everyone to follow and it will never vanish. Michael Jackson is recognized to be the most successful entertainer of all time and you know what, I can agree with that!  When he performed for his fans, he put on a show.  People have passed out at his concerts, cried from reaching out and trying to touch him knowing they were 20 rows back.  He has a special impact on millions of people and his presence was overwhelming and welcoming.

It's now the year 2011 and to me, music is NOT how it used to be.  Don't get me wrong, I still listen to the current music that is being released but I always find myself going back to throw on some MJ and there is nothing like it. It doesn't matter what mood I am in, his music can and will change everything. People put their feelings into their music and express their feelings through their words and that's exactly what Michael did. I don't care what anybody says but Michael Jackson was, is, and will ALWAYS be a legend. All he cared about was helping people and making sure everyone else was taken care of.  People were jealous of him and we all know what happens when jealous people show up - they hate!

This blog is for Michael, in rememberance of his name, music, and the impact he has left on earth.  I will be sharing photos, videos, and my thoughts on his songs and how they impacted us all.  Take a look at the poem below that I wrote for MJ after he passed away. If you all know your Michael Jackson music, you can really relate to the heart I put into this poem.  Even though he is gone, "His Music Will Always Live..."

“The King
I was born 1958, August 29
Five brothers, three sisters and together we all shined
Growing up was hard, at times I wanted to play
God told me at age five, that singing was the way
Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Jermaine – 4 brothers that always strived
Me the youngest and centered was the birth of Jackson 5
Now I’m grown up, and my purpose here is strong
So listen to my feelings that’s expressed throughout my songs
I want to make a difference, for all the boys and girls
To make a better place, I want to Heal the World’
People try to judge me, and the pain has been severe
Love and care for all, even the ‘Man in the Mirror’
I’ve been through ups and downs, my heart pure and clean
Can dance like a robot, and moonwalk to ‘Billie Jean’
I can be soft spoken, and ‘Speechless’ I can be
But this world isn’t my home, just ‘Another Part of Me’
My heart aches inside sometimes, I wish it were a dream
But I let those feelings out with Janet, when we performed ‘Scream’
I’ve seen a lot of faces and traveled all over the world
A ‘Smooth Criminal’ I was, to impress a ‘Liberian Girl’
I told her you ‘Rock my World,’ I said ‘Heaven Can Wait’
And until my ‘Break of Dawn,’ I will always ‘Keep the Faith’
We need to ‘Come Together,’ not later, but right now
And love one another, even a ‘Stranger in Moscow’
We need to stop the violence, don’t act ‘Bad’ and start fights
We’re all God’s children, whether we’re born ‘Black or White’
Do you 'Remember the Time’ saying don’t be a ‘Heartbreaker’
Well my love here is ‘Unbreakable,’ that’s just my ‘Human Nature’
My music lives and my spirit is free, but I’ve been called to my throne
I will love and miss you all, but it’s time to ‘Leave me Alone’
You didn’t live my life, feel my pain, not a fraction
I will always be the King of Pop, named Michael Jackson…

I hope you all enjoyed my poem, stay tuned because there is more to come. Please let me know what you think of it.  Just like Michael put his heart into his music, I do the same with my writing and that's what we call passion.
